Or was that 90,000 miles on the back of a trailer taking you back home? Only kidding

Still though must be pricey for that kind of work though Dave?

Mine made it 97k before I hauled out the engine to replace crank and bearings. It still had standard bores and the heads were in excellent shape. The crank was also on standard bearings IIRC. BUT 3 of the main bearing caps had broken - and it also suffered from low oil pressure

I rebuilt the TV8 around another block which I had sleeved back to standard and a clean crank on its first grind installed. In retrospect I should have kept the original crank, it was clean and I would probably have found it needed light work to give it another 100k service life.

Anyway back on topic. TV8 all the way. I drive mine like I stole it and regularly run it up to 5k if only for the noise. :dude:

Plus what happens when you are showing your car to a doe eyed enthusiast and they tentatively ask "as it got the original engine in it mon brave?" you could only answer "no I binned it and stuck in an RV8" and watch their dissapointment:P

    joking

Ultimately your car, your decision - personally I run my 3.9EFI RV8 in my Range Rover Classic and it does a very good job in there.

for the 3k mile per year I do in the Stag it simply is not worth messing with EFI etc but if I were to, I might take a close look at the modded manifold and twin stommy throttle body setup that I saw recently. That way at least it still looks standard'ish under the bonnet.

Not that I am a rivet counter
Stags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony
