Thinking of towing with the stag...

The last few years we have done a little camping, but now we have a 1 year old and 5 year old the Stag to be honest is too small for all the kit, we only just have sufficient room when going out for the day with pushchairs ect!

SoI have purchased a tow bar with the intention of either pulling a small trailer for all the camping gear, or maybe purchasing a trailer tent/folding camper, can't imagine towinga proper caravan to be honest.

Does anyone have any experiance of towing with a stag, knowing what the maximum towing weight would be a start! Thanks
    Mike.

Don't know about towing weight but back in the 70's my dad did tow a caravan over the Alps with his Stag, so yes towing with a Stag is no problem.

    Cheers

My parents often tow their caravan with the Stag. Not sure what weight it is, but it's a two berth one. I would think you'd be fine with a trailer / trailer tent.

I saw a trailer made from the rear end of a Stag once, not that is it?

                no..... it's this abomination......

Pictured full of my wife's shoes, and general stuff for a family holiday for 4 in Ireland..... it towed the 800 odd miles there and back at 80mph with no problems and the Stag didn't even notice it was there performance wise, returning an average 29mpg....

Official towing trailer weights are 200kg unbraked, and 1275kg braked

                  Tut tut Russ....

Maximum speed with a trailer is 60mph on 70mph roads and 50mph on 60mph roads!
And don't go in lane 3

I tow a caravan with my Stag. Weighs 1160 kgs laden so well within the limit (1275kgs) for the Stag.

Tows it no problem so I can't see you would have any issues with something lighter.

Look away now if you are of a sensitive nature . Hope you like the mirrors.

We've been towing a trailer tent with the Stag to National Days for years, not a problem, easy tow.
