    Main jets

    Hello

Please could some one tell me, the distance from the top of the brass main jet to the carb body its self

I have just rebuilt my carbs, and at the moment the jet is down slightly from the main body.

    Thanks

    Tim,

According to the Haynes book on the Zenith Stromberg CD carbs, the fixed jet in our carbs is pressed into the casting and isnot adjustable or removable. I have scanned and attached the relevant pages. The diagram shows it flush with the top, but I have read elsewhere that slightly depresed won't matter. This will be adjusted out when the carbs are set.

If the pictures don't come out clearly, I can PM them to you

They haven't come out too clearly. I have sent you a PM with my email address.

      Hi Tim

On the second of Dave's illustrations the flat of the carb needle baseshould be flush to the bodyplus 1/2 turn as a starting point, this will not be far out.
