I think not. Mileage is a valuable piece of historical info on the car. and other parts wear out too! Just make a paper record of the mileage when engine was fitted.
Can't see it makes much difference. It is not as if you are going to sell the car later as a 'low mileage example'. Leave it as it is and, if you do sell, tell prospective buyers that the engine was rebuilt at ******miles. Or reset it and then say it was reset at ******miles.
As long as it is recorded somewhere, and you let the insurance company know if you are on a limited mileage policy.

Quite agree that you should not reset. I think any buyers appreciate the more honest approach of seeing the true mileage.
Mine has 68K on the clock which is is genuine based on the history file and the paperwork shows the engine was rebuilt at 49K. I think this looks better than if it had been reset to zero and would now only be showing 19K.

I agree , don't reset but ask the engine rebuilder to note on the invoice the mileage when engine removed, he will want this info if he is offering a warranty.
If you are doing it yourself the invoice dates for parts will tie in closely with your mot certificates soany prospective buyer will be able to see when engine was done.
thanks guys, Wards are taking photos for me too of the rebuild. the mileage is just under 83000, thanks for the input, the mileage will stay and as you say just make sure it's on the invoice etc.
thanks
