As Neilmentined: is the oil draining down at the back? I have seen this area blocked before, its a very small hole; just poke with a wire to clear.

I wonder if wear in the camshaft or excessive oil pressure (eg Saab pump)would cause there to be more oil around?

Hi Chris,

Daft question - where is the hole? I guess soaking up the oil will expose it, but an idea would be helpful. Is it at the back (near bulkhead) in the middle of the head?

There is one at the back of the head. Take off cam cover and if there is a pool of oil at the back poke a wire in and try to unblock it.
