    Seats

    Hello one and all,

Having now owned my first stag for 10 months, spending a fare few bob and having covered some 2500 miles (dont own it not to use it, but man can it go through some gas) i am now in a dilema of wondering whether or not to change my seats!!

do i keep with original and spend around £500.00 so i can say "well this is totally original" and not be sent to the modified section (now what is that about??). Or do i spend £100.00 and pick up a good set of rover tomcat seats and suffer the snobby gibes from the purist elite of the stag world.

    thought and opinions please..

Do what ever you want it's your car

When i had the same dillema i opted for some leather seats in the end out of an eighties bmw, suit the stag well i think and boy does my rear like the extra comfort

had the same dilema, fitted Jaguar XJS seats in black leather (picked up by a very nice man)

£110 fitted - 100% improvementin comfortand looks (IMO) and all for less than the price of two seat foams.

Are the Stag seats that good?

Anything to improve I say, you have to sit in them and the Tom Cats do look good.

tomcat seats for mine, p-o-p to fit and the back seats can be made to fit relatively easily. mega comfy. I did try and hunt down xj-s front seats but wanted full leather rather than half leather.

If any purist dares moan I should helpfully point to the birdseye walnut on their dash and all the chrome tat under the bonnet. :P

I agree with Stu. Fit whatever you are comfortable with. Having tried a few 're-built' stag seats in others cars I decided they just didn't fit my profile so I spent an afternoon in the local breakers and came back with a nice set of leather seats from a Fiat coupe.
No one but a stag 'expert' is going to notice the difference anyway.

Silly question perhaps, but do they come in other colours? i.e. beige. I have only seen them in black, either full leather or half leather.

Can't see that beige would look that good somehow.

99% of XJS seats are leather:?, and of a much higher quality leather than the Tom cat seats (different original target market)

both seats are a vast improvement over the original IMO

I would also look at TVR seats. There was a TR6 at Bromley that had fitted Chimaerafront seats and they looked good in the car. Comfy, supportive readily available and not that expensive either.

There's loads of options available, take your pick of what you like

Getting your back seat to match nicely finishes off the project, either fitting the corresponding rear matching seat, or trimming the original back seat to match

Like the look of those Tomcat seats. Where did you source them?
