I thought we where all honourable (hope i'm wrong in the following rant and we are)

having read an advert in the for sale wanted area, i sent a cheque for £60.00 for some rear cubby panels, cheque has been cashed and the panels are where:shock::shock:well not with me and despite at least 20 attempts and speaking to the seller and being told the panels have been dispatched a least a week ago, they have still not arrived :X:X:X:X.

Now i cant get hold of the vendor. The words honour, good reputation, integrity, distinction are coursing through my veins at the moment.

So hopefully i'm incorrect and can retrct my words, i shall make a further attempt tomorrow on the hour each hour starting at 07.00hrs to contact the vendor, after this then i will have been tought a valuable lesson, trust absolutely no body.

What a s****y world we do actually live in, i will not name names and can only hope the above words honour, good reputation, integrity, distinction do actually mean something

Lets hope my faith is restored.

I would be surprised if an SOC member intentionally ripped of another SOC member.

Maybe he is on holiday, or maybe something has happened beyond his control for the time being.

....or am I being naive???

Sorry for you mate.

Everything Stag related has been OK for me so far and generally with most other things too. However I did pay £150 for a detachable tow bar for a Disco 3 that never arrived. After much hassle and time (I had to buy another one in the mean time as I needed to tow) I got the princely sum of £12 back from Ebay / Paypal - that's all they could get back from the assholes account. The sleaze that sold it made up all sorts of s**t, even a recorded delivery tracking reference.

..........that said, let's hope this is down to a (quite rare to be fair) postal problem and tomorrow you might be smiling

Hi Nigel,

I have spoken with this guy no less than 10 times to chase, the last discussion today yet again requesting the delivery document number, and i have received and e mail from another stag member who is still awaiting some chrome pieces from the same dude after 10 weeks, so i think i was being naive sending a cheque for £60.00.

am just about to try from another mobile number to see if i am being avoided, i shall post an update and name and shame if no joy

Not going to name and shame, its not up north if that helps, i would expect some of the scallies i know to do this trick, but not a member of a club, this is beyond me

Many years ago when I was just 18 and still at school, I bought an old (1956) Ford Pop (sit up and beg type) that had broken down outside my parents' house. It had a shot crown wheel and pinion and wouldn't move. A paid £7 10s (£7.50 for those without grey hair).

A had a small motor bike at the timeand I rode off to Waltham Cross where all the scrap yards were in my area and I found one who said they were getting a complete car in tomorrow andI could havethe complete axle, prop shaft, torque tube, brakes, and suspensionfor £2 10s. I asked if they could deliverand the guy said he would deliver it to my house the following day.

The next dayI rushed home from school and sat there all evening and no back axle arrived. I was pissed off and decided I had been stupid to trust a scrap dealer I didn't know from Adam.

I tried to forget about it, but the following evening there was a knock on the front door. There he was the man with my back axle. He apologised but told me that the one he had in the previous day turned out to be a bit rough, and as he was getting another one the following day, he decided to wait and see if that was OK. It was but the prop and torque tube were damaged which he thought I could easily take from my old one. As compensation he gave me 10 bob back.

My faith in human nature was restored!

I hope yours is too.

Hi John,

the feed back from the guy does not fill me with confidence, lets hope i'm incorrect.

I may grow old (older) bitter and twisted, i know i shall never request an item on the forum again, i shall collect in person.

the sad thing is i have order so many parts via the club

No you're not Rob. I would always trust a club member and in fact I myself, when selling bits to other club members, have gone out of my way to be more than honest/generous.

I think it is shocking if he has intentionally ripped you off but maybe there is a genuine explanation. I hope so for both of you and also the integrity of the club For Sale Board.

Try dialing 141 before the rest of the number, then, if he has caller display, he won't know its you calling and will answer if he has just been avoiding your calls.

rob honesty is a noble virtue and you trust others to be the same as yourself.it may all turn out well ,ive sold lots of stuff on the forum and often sent it on before ive had payment only once did i not recieve payment havent asked either they must need it more than me but i would not hesitate to post in advance of payment again because you cant give up on everyone .the guys on here are a good bunch so dont let one bad apple spoil it

I too sent £50.00 for some Chrome Trims from this vendor,this was 10 weeks ago, after several emails and calls I too have received nothing. As a member of only 4 months and my first dip into the 'for sale' section I am bitterly disappointed to be ripped off by a SOC member.
