All this recent talk about oil changes and dipsticks has got me wondering how much oil is needed to bring the minimum level up to the maximum level on the dipstick, does anyone know? This would be useful during oil changes...
Do not know the answer to your question, but I regularly have to top up as I have a small oil leak from around the bottom of the timing chain area where it meets the sump (will get round to fixing it one of these days) and if the dipstick is reading minimum I put in a couple of pints then re-read it, and continue topping up until it hits maximum. I think I put in around 3+ pints to move from mimum to maximum but not sure.

Hi Brian
I think it is around 1 litre of oil from min-max, it has been a while since I topped one up
