good point, anyone carrying out work for profit on a car should have some form of public liability insurance policy in place, if your car is stolen, damaged, catches fire etc etc who is going to pay? because your insurance company won't.

This brings us to another point, what if you have your Stag serviced or repaired bythe guy that lives round the corner, who does it as a part time money earner with no insurance, and damages your Stag or even worse does a bad repair that causes an accidentwho is going to foot the costs.
I know of one case involving a friend who had the guy round the corner service his old Rover, the guy was involved in a minor accident when he took it for a road test, the guy had no insurance, he had no money to pay for the repairs to his Rover and was taken to court by the car he hit insurance company and fine and points on his licence for no insurance, all very good but did not help my friend get his car repaired, but at least he didn't have to pay for the service.
