Petrol tank breather?!

Hi all...

Been investigating the strong smell of petrol, and have tracked it down to the little pipe that sticks out the top of the petrol tank.

Should this have a breather pipe attached, and if so where should it go? Or, should it just have a bung?

Just blank it off, it was for the return pipes on federal cars, not needed here

A common problem this. A short length of fuel hose with a bolt in the end and a couple of jubilee clips should do the trick.
