    Steering wheel security lock

    Hi all,

I want to get one of those security locks that fit over the steering wheel so I can leave the Stag for short periods when I'm out and about without worrying whether it will still be there when I return. I've been looking at the Disklok which covers the entire steering wheel - looks like the most secure option,so any endorsements or other recommendations would be gratefully received.

    Cheers,

    Bob.

Hi Bob, A friend of mine was given a disclok ( from swmbo) for his Golf and although it did the job well it really got in the way when it wasn't on the steering wheel. Within a week he'd taken it back and exchanged it for one of the straight bar ones which stored neatly down by the side of his seat.
Having said that I've never used any of them so I can't really recommend anything.

Why not consider a Battery key that fits in the earth cable and is easy to remove and fits in your pocket. Easy to install and simple to remove and replace. Also stops any drain on the Battery whatsover. Can't remember what I paid for mine - but it was pretty cheap.

Hmm interesting idea Terry- not heard of those so just googled it upand they're cheap enoughso I might well buy and install one as secondary security but I'm hoping something big, yellowand made of pig iron might prove a betterinitialdeterrent!

          Cheers,

          Bob.

Excuse my ignorance Roger, but what's one of those and where would I get one? (The only quick release boss I know of is SWMBO )

            Cheers,

            Bob.

Battery isolators come in various forms, try companies such as Demon tweeks or other motorsport suppliers, I've used them on various landrovers, compulsory for competition vehicles, very handy for disconnecting power in a hurry!
However in the Stag I use a Stoplock, It fastens across the wheel and even has a flashing led on the long arm bit.

                Hi Bob

You can get a kit from Demon Tweeks you will also need a Boss to fit the Stag also from Demon, then you need access to a lathe as there is some maching to do...But basically you turn a key pull two buttons out and remove wheel, to refit just push it on....I will send some pics when I have sorted out how to reduce them in size, anybody help.

                  Hi Roger,
To resize photos either have a look on your camera software program (finepix?) on the computer for resizing, or email them to yourself and then resize when given the option.
