Hi Guys,
Went down to Nottingham from Wakefield today to collect some bits i won on E Bay.
Met two guys called Al and Rob and had a look at the Pimento Stag they are in the middle of refurbing, and had just painted. (fantastic paint job)
When I asked Al if he intended putting it on E Bay when it is finished, he asked if I had seen his previous efforts on there?
It gradually dawned on me that these are the two guys who sell the immaculate examples for £19,000 - £20,000 at a time - I particularly remember the dark blue one recently.
What a very, very nice unassuming pair of chaps they are, and spoke warmly of their meeting with Dasadrew, and a lad called Justin from the West Yorkshire SOC who has had the Inca Yellow one he has owned for 25 years done by Al and Rob fairly recently, and with which he is delighted.
The parts I won on E Bay were as described, and all in all it was a very pleasant experience. There are only two of them in a smallish lockup/unit, (and possibly a part-time painter), and I understand they work 12 - 14 hour days on a regular basis.
They seem very keen to keep the Stags alive that they come across, so I applaud them for that.
