if i replace them will it be the same, could it be a current strength thing or just they are knacked?

I had this with mine.
Took it out, cleaned it up, fiddled with itand got it to work. There's a central bolt or nut (IIRC with a locking ring of sorts) that can be adjusted and this can make a difference.
I seem to remember the low and high note horns are marked L& H (cast into the alloy? casing)
