During 6 days in central Paris, I saw a varied selection of motors on the streets. At each end of the scale. First full day I heard, then saw, a Swiss-registered Ferrari F40 in front of the Ritz Hotel. I saw this again shortly after whilst we were at the Arc de Triomphe. A couple of days later and it was at the Ritz again, this time being driven onto a car transporter, which had Italian plates. The couple put their luggage in the F40 then fitted a tailor-made cover and drove off. Was this just a way of using the F40 in Paris during the holiday weekend without adding to its mileage? Or was there another reason? The car certainly sounded healthy enough as it was driven onto the transporter.
I was struck by the number of Smart cars in Paris. You couldn't walk a few yards before seeing another one. Classic Minis also in abundance as well as the new BMW mini.S-Class Mercseverywhere, especially around the designer shop streets, as well as plenty of 4x4s and Bentleys (including a white stretched Continental :shock
. Best of all was reserved for the last day when I was within a few feet of an Aston MartinDB9, and then a new AMV8 Volante. Drool? Second only to SWMBO looking in Cartier's window
