A lotus forum I am part of has a 'stealth' mode,this strips out all avatars and photo's to basic text...maybe the answer?

Infact it also has a 'mobile' mode too, for ease of use on pda's mobiles etc....

Dont know if you have a blackberry, but if yes, I am in the process of writing a little app that allows me to read this forum on my Blackberry.It is text based so no problem with anyone seeing pictures :-)

It is fairly basic and in an early stage of development but would be happy to get it tested on other backberry devices and get some early feedback of an issues.

Let me know if this solves your problem because I too like to browse this forumover lunchtime at work, such a shame if you can no longer participate

That'd be a great idea - although I couldn't care less about what people have as their avatar I do sometimes look at the forum during my lunch break, including while working at clients offices. While I'm sure most people dont mind the pictures I do feel I have to skate past some of the more risky avatars. A stealth mode would be the ideal answer.

It is the mobile mode I miss to. I like to check the forum on the train to and from work. Currently I have to use the browser on the phone and keep playing with the zoom facility.

Got tired of re - zooming everytime you change a topic,so wrote a simple blackberry application which does the trick.

i would just like to say that i , my wife or the 90 girls [all staff]that i work with in my SCHOOL have never found an avatar to offend any of us on here,i am on here all day from work as well,i would really like a link to the ones you are talking about as we have never seen them, please do post a link as i have a group of girls hogging round to have a look and give their opinion to me.
