Went to see Brian today, he's fitting a new headlining to my hard-top, really nice guy who knows what he's doing. Not the easiest place to find, but v. nice place to live!

I can't help feeling the MKI hood would feel less claustrophobic
It does make a big difference, it's surprising how much more light it lets into the car.
Improved vision at those awkward junctions and if you have kids in the back they are much happier with a window to look out.
Downside is that if you are not careful it is easy to damage the quarters when you stow the hood. I always unzip the rear window first and make sure the quarters are folded without making a 'pointed' crease. No problems to date apart from the usual wear and tearsurface scratches.
After seeing your hood pete I decided that I should go for the Mk 1 hood, so thanks for posting it, I managed to ring Brian in time to change my mind !!
