Used to have private plates on mine and my wifes cars when we lived in the U.K. (see pic below).
The number 7 was always lucky for me so 421 added up to 7 and TMK was short for my name (Terry Makinson).
My wife Maureen was born on the 13th and 355 added up to 13 and MAU was short for Maureen. MXI 124 on the Stag also added up to 7 and MXI for me stood for Makinson Xtra Investment - which I considered the Stag to be.
MXI 124 went into a black hole somewhere at DVLA when I got a Tenerife plate on the Stag, but 355 MAU we sold before driving the Honda Accord over, which now too has a Tenerife plate.
The Accord replaced the Prelude and is worth far more over here in Tenerife than it was in the U.K. and is very useful for when we are picking people and their luggage up from the Airport.
421 TMK by the way I transferred over to my daughter's car before we left and I sold the Merc (her name is "Tina" so the letters still apply).
