    hello john ,

i,m sorry to hear your bad news , i understand what you are going throgh as my brother was epileptic from five years old , but with the advance of medicines today ,its not as bad as in the fifties and sixties , now whether to keep the stag ,

my stag knocked the ends out in 1993 ,it has sat in my garagesince i bought every panel i could for it , and had the engine rebuilt , and it is now in for complete respray ,i have owned it since1981 and i will never sell it ,we drove the car for years, and it was the best and most comfertable car i have ever had , when you hear people say when you drive about , i allways wanted one of them , you realise what you have , if you sell ,you might not get one as good as the one you have ,

i hope everything works out for you john , and sorry for the ramble

    andy

      Hi John,

Really sorry to hear about you predicament!

I was diagnosed with epilepsy some 10 years ago - have never had a problem since [touch wood it stays that way] - yes it was a bummer as I was without a licence for 3 years.

Be positive - the drugs I use are fine....

You should use the non-driving time as a means of tidying up your Stag.. as previously suggested - you know what you have... and would only try and purchase like for like next time around or perhaps might decide not to return to the Stags ownership.

I have had my Stag since 86 - no intention of letting it go as the mileage is only 37 k, would rather let my other cars go first.

The Stag is a unique vehicle... to have some similar would cost today in excess of £40 k not that their is anything like it available.

John keep the Stag, they are getting fewer and fewer besides it is always a good talking point and you will meet many people who will want to talk to you about your car... never had that happen with my Tiguan etc.

Stags are going to become very rare in the future - keep a piece of motoring history and enjoy the experience.

      Pablo!

A big thank you to you all for your kind regards and thoughts.
i suppose the question was given to a biased group so the general opinion does not shock me
i have talked it over with the missus and kids and we said we would keep the car,as
it was an issue of finance and i would try to maybe upgrade for d-day fingers crossed 11 mounths and counting.
the wife will do the honours but wants better seats to drive it.
i have been reminded by my oldest that the car is his at 21 now 15.
i suppose my question is storage i have an enclosed car port, which is dry but thought of de humidifier for inside car or air flow style tents not sure which is best.
as for storage mechanical i am of the school of warm up weekly school.
i will try some improvements if she gives me the funds:X maybe even get that external water pump from stag dad fitted.

ps stag dad that holiday with free beer is still on honestly

Hiya John, my heart goes out to you, that's tough ! One of our guys is sitting out the 12 Months with the same issue, he's well cheesed but his wife drives so he does get to go out in it, and fettle it, and polish it and . . . VERY glad to see you're keeping it, you're right of course, this is the wrong place to look for advice Martin.
