Thanks to Danny for helping me look over my new car and sort out a few things this evening.
One problem is that the boot lid is too high. We tried moving the catch down as low as it will go but the boot lid is still sitting too high. We removed the boot seal and the boot lid then lines up fine, but obviously I need the rubber seal!
Any ideas? I thought about visiting the breaker's yard and looking for a smaller section rubber seal which could hopefully take up less room , but still seal. Any other suggestions?

got a new seal but had to slam the lid and it sat too high then. Thankfully I had kept the old seal and have refitted that now even though it is not in the best of shape. Also slamming the lid /using the new seal for a year or so has obviously bent something slightly as boot lid is not as good a fit as it was but to be honest that is being a bit picky - it is just nice to have it shutting so easily again. New seal in the bin!
