National Day 2013 Question

I googled North Weald Airfield to check on its location since its commuting distance from me and found a web site. Under events there is no mention of us but for that weekend there is a model show on (planes, cars & boats not whimmin).

Although this will probably give us something else of interest to see, is it going to cause queues getting in and out of the venue as this event appears to be bigger than ours?

Hi MB,

As a local to North Weald (I live in Waltham Abbey about 5 miles away) there are many events that occur on the site. One popular and regular event is the market that occurs every Saturday. A well attended market.

Although there may be many cars/people and events etc the airfield staff are very well versed in vehicle control etc and there is a great deal of space for car parking etc. Occasionaly, on a bright sunny morning the ingress to the site may be a bit crowded so, those that need to, cool down those Stags from the motorway run before you get in a traffic jam.

The webiste you mention does give event organisers the opportunity to place their event on the website. I quote

"If you are aware of, or are holding any events on the airfield and would like them listed here, please send details to: webmaster@northwealdairfield.org"

and far be it for me to interfere in the organisation of the event.

I am looking forward to the event - and very much hope to be present.

Shame we're not mentioned, the Nats usually draw the public - if they know we're there. Martin.

Yes, quite correct, there is a model aircraft show but this is the other side of where we are and could be an additional attraction adn we have tried to get you all a discount to go over there by they want £10.

Now, the most important point is that we have arranged for a dedicated gate entrance for us all to come and and there will be no queues as long as everyone does as we say on the day, so dont worry about what else is happening, hopefully we have covered it. It has taken a few sessions of arm twisting but its in place. More information will follow with regards to a map etc as if you use the site post code, you will be going in the wrong gate .
