Seriously that is a bugger but there is still hope as I am sure any who have had this happen to them will testify. I think the technique is to get as many studs out as you can (and all the bolts) raise the heads a few inches, protect the surfaces with something (piece of laminate floor?) then take a (hack)saw to the studs take heads off and get your local engineering company to drill the remains out. I'm going on hearsay from other posts but I think the real answer is 'don't despair' it is salvageable.

Hi Gary,
I am not a a master mechanic by any stretch and I was faced with the same situation as you, I still managed to get the heads off, so all is not lost.
The way I did it was to jack the head off using a side jack braced against some wood on the other side and pushing against the inlet ports on the head. It was far more brutal that I wanted to get but it did the trick.
I could then get a roller type stud extractor on the studs and remove them.
The old adage where there is a will there is a way springs to mind.

It took me three weeks to get the heads off mine when I bought it. I managed after a lot of pulling tugging, rope down the bores, to lift the heads with the pistons, but finally I lifted them about 2mm. I them got a hacksaw blade in and cut the remaining studs. The guy I took the heads to got the studs etc out but In my haste to get the reminding studs out of the block I nicked one of the bores. I had this tig welded and decked.
The thing is after all this it didn't cost more than a couple of hundred quid and now I am out on the road it was all worth it!
Don't give up you will manage to get it sorted in the end and enjoy the summer.

Being comparatively close, I wish I could offer you some more practical advice or help, but my toolkit consists only of various Meguiars products
