I have the Davies Craig electric water pump and so far it has worked fine. I relocated the alternator to the LHS of the engine bay to free up an area near the sump for the water pump. The only issues I had was incorrect temperature readings on the dash gauge and no heat from the heater. I sorted both of those out. Firstly by fitting a combination oil pressure and water temperature gauge. Both these units are capable of more accurate readings than the previous electrical sensor type units.
For the heater I had a pipe made between the pump and the inlet point on the engine. It is located in front of the timing cover. The idea being is to force water directly from the pump straight into the heater line. You can't actually tell that I've got a EWP. The only give away is the sound. There is no central heating copper pipework or any other form of hoses running around the engine bay. Looks great. Bring on Winter!
