Yep, fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable trip - as have been ones in previous years with the same group. However, they are not open to the general public unfortunately and I'm a bit of an infiltrator (albeit invited).
Known as 'The Guild Classic Run', it is organised by the Guild of Motoring Writers every year and it is for Motoring Journalists. As I used to work with them in the past, and know most of them well, they invited me along as a guest (although I've got to pay !) once they knew I'd got a classic car.
We went to Belgium last year and they're talking of going to Holland next. All being well, I'll be there again.
Can you make sure it's sunny there around the middle of July please
Re your earlier message (sorry I didn't respond earlier) but you're right, we will be quite a bit further North than you this time. We'll be close to Sarlat, but in previous years we must have been close when we stayed near to Condom
Cheers
Julian
Hi Julian, looks like you had better weather than us, rained every day by one, that,s 6 out of 7, anyway we had a good time and the car was great, 116 (2).jpg125 (2).jpgjust the park switch on the wipers played up.

Funny that, although I'd said my car was trouble free, I'd forgotten that, on the first day, we had some rain and my parking switch was playing up. At the price they are I'm just hoping I can sort it out by cleaning it up, but I'm not too optimistic
Sorry to hear about your holiday weather, where did you go ?

Hi Julian, we went to Dinan and Bayeux via loads of other villages on route:-
Possibly of no interest to anyone else, but I've just received some more pics of our French trip. I liked this one ! (even if it doesn't show off my car's colour very well )
Just back from our main holiday to France - sadly not in the Stag but with four people and this much luggage even I didn't think it would be the best choice of cars
What's worse though is that one of the three guys there is me and, believe it or not, I hate having my picture taken.
Ah well, that's most of my travels over for this year. I've now got about a hundred things to catch up on before I can even think of playing with the Stag again
Cheers
Julian
PS I like the way the writer says '480 managed some time to stop amid some more valuable classics'
Was the hot air balloon in the background coming in to pick up or drop off all those supply's..
Or maybe it was Customs and excise's new mode of transport for spying on us..

Ditto!
I only do what the voices in my wife’s head tell me to do!

Good to have you back Julian. It's been a strange couple of weeks on here (possibly due to the weather!) with some frayed tempers, and Martin trying to escape the madhouse - but he was recaptured in time thank goodness
