I also carrya small trolley jack when I found the bottle jack wouldn't fit under with flat wheel (never trust screw jacks). I carry all spares in the hood well..
anyone still got the original jack/tools the car came with, very often in repair the sills get the jacking lug removed.

I had the jack when I bought the car in November, it lasted just long enough for me to jack up the four corners (one at a time of course:P), then it seized up. Better than collapsing I guess:shock:. Bit of a nuisance as the replacement jacks can't use the jacking point as the pin gets in the way.
Other than that, I have the obligitary rusty spark plug and a couple of box spanner type thingies that have such short handles they look like they would make removing the wheels an impossible task. I have the plastic tool bag though!
I bought this from screwfix for £16.00. Plenty of room in the bag for a set of spanners and a few other bits and bobs
Ref the earlier thread----where do you gets 'spare wives' from? Mine can prove to be a little temprementalwhilst she has never let me down or failed completely it might be a good idea to have a much newer one in reserve if she did

Darren,
I trust she doesn't read this, or is VERY understanding. If the former, I am sure I can be persuaded not to spill the beans
