Correct, air being compressible, it will reduce the rate of change of pressure that can be indicated, (i.e. act as a damping agent) but frankly, I don't believe these types of gauges are capable of fast responses anyway. As you rightly say, air or not in the tube won't affect the actual pressure indicated in a steady state.

Hence my overall conclusion - it just doesn't matter, lol. After all, the gauges on a compressed air line are quite happy on it.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

And - at the end of the day, how accurate are they anyway? This is so common - we all believe the reading without thinking about the calibration accuracy.

      Cheers,
      Mike.

Like most normal people, I've tried to avoid confrontation by staying away from threads you are taking part in, due to your hostile attitude.

As you continued to make silly comments I then suggested that you don't read my stuff if you don't like it, in an effort to keep the peace, and what do you do then? Stalk me in my own threads in an unhelpful and disruptive way

Still, there is some common ground. I agree that it's not worth suggesting that you don't read my contributions for a third time, the words 'waste' and 'breath' spring to mind. I'll waste no more, but it would be worthwhile for you to read the reply I've posted for your rant partner, as almost all of it (save the subject of challenge) applies equally well.

        On another tack entirely;

You'll no doubt be thrilled to learn that this evening I've gotten my EWP installation up and runnng, and appear to have achieved all of the additional the goals I set to take it just that little bit little further. I've included a proper bottom-feeding Header Tank and multiple air bleed-back to the Header Tank into bargain, along with not having to move the Alternator.

Another prime objective of seeing the entire system bleed itself (no jacking up etc.) on the first fill was also achieved. Still, I'll leave that with you for now, as contrary to your demands, I shall write it up more fully and make it accessible to all.

        Including you

        Regards

        Steve

        And P. S.

The heater also works just fine without an additional pump, thought you'd like to know that too
Got to be a school teacher I consider myself well and truly told off and I am going to give myself a dam good spanking. I apologise Steve because you seem to have a good following. From my point of view in the years I have been on this forum there has never been anyone that has irritated me so much (we have never even met) perhaps that's just as well, maybe its the way you write, no humour and like a teacher lecture to a class of numpty's. I just feel you wandered in and in the space of 3 months taken over. Well I have had my say and to save myself agro I am staying off the forum and speak to friends through Pm's . Road clear knock yourself out now where's that Vodka. Cheer's Graham

Returning to the oil gauge ! I had the plastic pipe originally, but changed it to a braided one after reading someone's post about the horrendous fire which destroyed their Stag and which they reckoned had been down to a burst plastic pipe having melted against the exhaust. I would go for a braided one - also avoids the potential kinking problem mentioned by Steve.

                Hi Steve,

I got a braided one from Demon Tweaks and it looks good and has worked well. I remember posting details on here in the last year so you may find some info if you do a search.#

                Cheers
