Hi All
I'll admit this isn't Stag related but it would be if I had to do any paintwork on it. I'm actually respraying our Ford Pop from 1958 - but they don't even have a Forum.
My compressor has just packed up and I'm wondering if anyone has every repaired one - or at least help me work out if it's worth repairing.
It's a cheap one and I've had it around 5 years. Came from Makro and cost me just over £100. It's a 50l one but can't be that good quality and I can see equivalent on eBay for £104 delivered free.
It doesn't owe me anything but I'm loath to throw it away if it can be repaired at reasonable cost. However if I take it to a specialist I think they'll laugh at me and want about £100 anyway. I can see a new valve block on eBay for around £35 but I'm not sure if it'd fit. There's a leak where the air goes into the block / switch assembly and I've made it worse trying to fix it and broken a pipe.
So has anyone ever repaired one? Or should I bin it and buy another?
Anyone's thoughts appreciated.
Chris
