May be worth doing a search on here as lots has been said about battery fitment.
Cheers

For about 15 years, I had a Unipart Samson, wonderfull battery, baring in mind the car would often go six months without use, and I certainly never put a battery tender on it, for it to have lasted that long, even better, it comes with a guaranteed for life card, so when it finally packed up, I just took it to the Unipart shop who gave me another one.
The guarantee for life part has now been ended due to classic owners like me keeping a car longer than expected.
My current Samson, the sides werent flat, it had a reinforced ridge down the bottom for clamping, this made it slightly too wide, but I found it easy enough to cut these off with a bread knife.
