I have been driving since '75 and tend to keep cars for a while. "Classic" status is supposed to start from when they get to about 20 years old isn't it? and just about the only one I have had that doesn't seem to have much of a following now was a Pug 305. The shortest I ever had a car was an '83 XR3i for 9 months back in '84 (I didn't like how it handled) which I replaced with an '83 Cavalier 1.8 SRi. that I kept for 10 years. If I could have any of my cars back again my top three would probably be my :
1. '68 TR5
2. '65 998cc Morris Mini Cooper
3. '72 Mk 3 Cortina 2.0 lit GT
More recently I regret selling my '97 BMW M3 Evo in 2006, which I started to think looked dated. I wanted something fresher but didn't need the money from the sale to get what I wanted, so just and let it go for silly low money. Soon after values dipped and the cars got into the hands of chav's, but prices have bottomed out now and I can only see well looked after, non-messed about with cars rising in value.
