Since nothing is being built to replace them I recommend you go buy your own generator, because the politicians WILL cause blackouts in the UK due to their usual lack of vision/comprehension over energy (and their stupid agreement to the likes of Kyoto, which is making no difference to global CO2 emissions but putting our own energy costs beyond the reach of the poor and making Industry uncompetitive).

Cars can use the outside lane and do 70 so if they're being held up it's by other cars not the trucks.
I've no time for one road user against another, trucks v cars, bikes v buses etc etc.
You see bad driving etc from all types, my pet hate is being tailgated.
I take the point about trucks getting into unnecessary 'elephant races'.
Coming back to the thread subject, going 60 instead of 70 for just of 30 miles will only add a couple of minutes to the overall journey so not worth worrying about.
Still a futile exercise IMO.ZF 4 spd box, Datsun shafts, SS exhaust, 38DGMS weber 158.9bhp, BMW MC Tomcat seatssigpic

So, if you're doing a 120 mile motorway trip then it would take 2 hours at 60 but only 1 hour 42 minutes at 70 - not entirely futile
And at 80, it would only be 1 1/2 hrs, on the Autobahn, of course
Cheers

( when I said it's futile I meant the proposal, I can't see it having much effect on overall emissions)ZF 4 spd box, Datsun shafts, SS exhaust, 38DGMS weber 158.9bhp, BMW MC Tomcat seatssigpic

Totally agree with you about the no time for one road user against another, trucks v cars, bikes v buses and bikes v cars !
I used to have to do a 220 mile/day commute for 25 years and so I found that the few mph difference did make a difference
