      Block the holes up!

Then flush it all out to be sure, look at the casting sand episodes.
I only do what the voices in my wife’s head tell me to do!

Scraped wire brushed scraped a bit more hurt fingers got dirty but produced this........

The inlet manifold was much harder to clean than the engine. The block had all the plugs taken out and washed through with a strong detergent (no caustic soda!) and then throughly flushed over and over again.... it still ran dirty after I drained it down after its first hot run.

Ah, a way of making a RV8 into a genuine Stag engine !!!

Brake fluid always seems to lift paint very well if left

I would try cellulose thinners with a brush, well ventilated and see if that pickles up the paint, also depends what paint but celly gets most off.

A dremel with a wire brush fitting might work.

I'd then go for a silver finish (to match the car), but there are a choice of engine paints, even RED! But then black would look good IMO.

                Jeff.
as said I use a small wire brushes in a dremel type tool, and larger wire brushes in a drill and scotch pads, the nylon brushes will be kinder to the ali bits and work well.
I tried Celly thinners, Hammerite thinners, Nitromors, and the epoxy thinners I had, but it would not move it, just soften the very top layer.

I think time is the answer, which we all seem short of
