    the pump is fitted between the expansion bottle and the left hand cylinder head on a bracket. It pulls from the bottom hose and upto the mechanical pump inlet.

      Runs fine though it doesn't seem as sharp or as comfortable as the Stag I had in the early 80's, but perhaps that is the passage of time affecting the memory. The car sounds like a Stag. I don't notice any additional sound, sucking or otherwise through these air filters. Regarding the carbs breathing, I'm afraid I don't know what you mean. It all seems normal to me.
