Does the Mk2 have Bigger / Faster Bits inside ?

Have You Every Rebuilt a TV8 engine before Chris ?
Photos look okay. I'd not be happy with how retracted the timing chain tensioners are and the wording does not state that the crank has been re-heat treated. Essential after a re-grind. Must be pretty rare to find a crank only needing a 10 Thou re-grind probably not the original crank.

do you want to know whether you have your original engine fitted or not?

for less than the price of a meal out!

Slightly cheaper option is to request copies of all registration docs for your car. find the first and compare engine numbers

V888 is the form you need:

My Stag used to have a Private Plate on it. So I've no idea if DAL 92K is it's original registration. Would it be ?

I think v888 form works on the chassis number so shouldnt make a difference. My bundle of docs supplied by v888 when right back to dec 73 but then the reg number has never changed, the heritage certificate told me it was sold by the Hong Kong dealership and left these shores in August 1973

Hong Kong !!! Wow, Was it White then too ? So if it's been in Hong Kong I take it then it wasn't rotten ?

So what's best then ? The V888 or the Heritage Certificate ?

Heritage certificate also lists some interesting facts about your car at delivery, e.g. whether it had hard and soft tops, key numbers, etc. I found it well worth the money.

yep white then, chestnut interior, hardtop, steel wheels, bw35 baderbox

It only took a week long visit to Hong Kong before it came back and was registered by the Factory under home delivery export scheme.

First owner was a director at a marketing company. he lived in Roehampton - made famous by dud and pete.

It was only overseas for the first couple of months of its life, spent the next 40 years in and around the home counties lol

re V888 vs Heritage certificate I would say both. neither really overlaps the info offered by the other.

All adds to the history file which could make the car more attractive when sold on.

I'll get both Forms Filled in soon. Need to dig out the Registration (log book) I am leaning towards painting my Stag White. But I do like Sapphire Blue too.

My Front Seats are in a terrible state. Back Seat is fine. But will need new Seat Belts fitting all round.

local body shop near me in Bucks. I did the strip and prep, he slopped on the paint and flatted it, I rebuilt the car. done a few years ago now.

Including some metal work to all inner arches, outer rear arches, front panel, both doors and of course the dreaded a-post it came in a smidge over £2k. Bloody bargain but a lot of work on my part.
