      Thanks - interesting! My other BW 35 classic did once make a small puddle of AQF on the cardboard* on the garage floor. I was puzzled as this appeared on the other side of the gearbox to the filler - assume this was "drip round" from the problem you describe. Has not however returned.

      *I line my garage floor with cardboard I had just run out of the packing for our new kitchen when a friend decided to replace theirs!!

        Ian, I measured my felt bob at the top of the dip stick it is 14.1mm not a good fit.

                I think this explains why I found ATF under my car today.
                Been stood for months while I replace the head gaskets
                Just ready to put heads back on so decided to make a bit more room to get good clearance and so yesterday I took a few more bits off
                - including removing the BW35 dipstick!!
