Look at Edds picture, I assume it's been disconnected at the filler neck but this shows the tube and where it comes out through the floor.

Mine is just the same as Julian's.

To be honest as long as they are both vented to atmosphere under the car, that's all that matters. otherwise you end up with petrol fumes inside car

We may never know what and when and if things were changed during production.

I pinched this from Drew's thread and added the labels a while back. I guess it is already in an older thread covering the same topic.

Have received new fuel pump from LD this morning so while fitting it I will restore correct venting.

Next question however is where do these vent and drain tubes go at the other end? I can see no holes in the boot floor when viewed from under the car. Similarly in the O/S wheel arch but the lower rear of this is obscured by the mudflap.

If I have to drill holes where should they be?
Julian's photo in post #22 shows clearly where they exit the boot. Looking from underneath one will be through the boot floor and one through the vertical panel just above the floor. The pictures I took of mine with the tank out are exactly like Julian's.

I wonder if there was a change of routing Dave Mine looks original and the Rimmer's illustration suggest that the spill tube was shorter and went straight down as on my car

I don't seem to recall that hole in the vertical panel when I had my tank out either especially as I renewed all the grommets when I removed the Tow Bar.

I agree. Following your advice I have located a "soft spot" through the underseal . It is exactly in the place you suggested and indicated by Eds Photo. Seems someone blocked the hole with sealant and then covered with underseal. As previously discussed my Stag is the same Mk1.5 vintage as yours.

Since you have recently fitted the Ecco pump from LD I am sending you a PM in the hope you can clarify one or two aspects.

              Thanks

Strange as ours are but a few numbers apart. Mine also looks original.....

My car has been down to a bare shell by a PO, maybe it got put back differently, but like I said the Rimmer's illustration shows it as a short pipe and there is the picture of Edd's car with the wing cut away that appears to the same as mine

Mine's the same as Julian's NOT that I've seen his Let's stop that rumour in it's tracks The hole in the boot floor and the back panel are stamped out not drilled so I would guess that they are original.
