    Choke knob removal

Trying to help a friend and he has the following choke knob fitted and we cant get it off. On my one there is a grub screw and on the original ones I believe they had just a pin that you could press in and off it pulled.

Looking at his set up he has neither and looks like a pin that has been punched to for a rivet. I cant understand also as to why a hole would be so close to the end as surely it is a weal edge.

With enough force, will this pull off or will I have to drill out the pin that has been flattened?

What have the rest of you got fitted and how?

    Cheers

I had a replacement from Paddocks last year and there was no removable knob had to undo at the carbs and thread it through behind dash etc not a quick job.

I had to pull the inners out from the carbs on mine when replacing the dash as the knob did not come apart from the cable

        Thanks
The inners have stoppers on the end so you cant pull them through on this one. I have just bought a replacement knob from Paddocks for £4.50 with a grub screw and now going to cut the old one off and refit after I have re- routed the as the cable go to the left of the engine bay and not to the right so all bent up. Amazing angles they have done.
