The club is doing very well and no need for radical change but there must always be a mechanism to put forward suggestions in a positive and constructive manner. This is why I have said to anyone, put forward ideas to Carl or moderators. Ian is quite right about certain things that have not happened or gone anywhere but there would be a reason I'm sure.

The bottom line is, moderators read this, Carl gets to hear about it or read it himself and I am sure it will be discussed along with any emailed or messaged suggestions and with a stronger team and a bit more time, something may come of it. Therefore take it that the committee will know about it

Lets see, but there wont be another committee meeting for a long while and I am just deciding whether to do another year, as 10 years of the M25, M40 every 6-7 weeks has got a bit much

    Hi Andrew,

Last of the night, thank you for your explanation of how things may move along, should I email Carl are can I assume that the matter is in hand ?

I have also replied to Steve's post.

As previously said, I do understand and appreciate the committee members efforts and I am sure that there are time when you wonder why you do it.

However as you say "there won't be another committee meeting for a long while" so I assume that the probability of this being discussed and if agreed will be some time off, so if that is the case we will have to wait and see and perhaps we should put this thread to bed until then.

    Regards

    Nigel

      To both Nigel and Andrew,

Before this post goes to sleep (hopefully NOT to be forgotten ) can I just re-emphasise my point in post #39 that, to me, the trip advisor type of feedback would be the best way forwards I believe.

It would be, effectively, an ongoing survey and not just a snapshot and it would appear to avoid any legal problems.

Edd makes a good point that some people seem to moan about anything but trip advisor gives the supplier the opportunity to respond and state his case. Furthermore, whenever I look at TA I look at the overall average rating and ignore (although read for interest ) the extreme positive and negative comments.

      Fingers crossed

      Cheers

      Julian

Ps Andrew - Please stay on the committee. I rather suspect that if you were to leave then the Forum would be almost totally ignored by those in control

Thanks Julian, but I know it's being looked at

Nigel, quite right nothing can be discussed at the committee until the next meeting but as already mention, with a positive and supporting approach, everyone who wants this can come up with research, suggestions etc from other clubs they belong to or see doing a survey and let's have something to discuss and who knows, use. Although there are many members on here including myself, the forum is not the club and the voice, it's the members of the club who can send in suggestions and even better, could offer to help if ever it took off.

The Forum is a members benefit and is additional to the club as a whole. I love both but do appreciate that there are members who don't go to meetings for various reasons, so of which is due to the fact the meetings are too far away from them. Therefore there is a heavy dependence on the forum. Even when I am way on holiday or business I'm always dipping in to see what's going on. Don't see the forum as the club as its isn't but most of us do both and for the record, unlike some clubs which I wont name, we are not losing members, in fact our member ship is either slightly up over the recent years. I recon its due to a great forum and area events. Not to mention the fantastic work Bob has done through the forum for Brands Hatch event.
