    I heard RV8s that sound fine at Idle with only 4psi or 5psi on the gauge.

    Keep the correct idle speed.

      Remembering the oil pressure also bears an influence on the timing chain tensioners,too much pressure shortens their life considerably.In a V8 oil volume movement in the crankshaft area is what is needed,not high pressure.

        Opps, sorry replied to the wrong part of the thread

        The question now has turned to Rover V8's which is OHV and single timing chain.

        Agree with your comment about the chain tensioners on TV8 though.
