Got mine out of the garage for the first time in over a week. I've been too busy playing with my new daily driver...
Spent some time cleaning under the bonnet and generally getting it ready for our biggest local show this weekend; the Crashbox Car Club Vintage Vehicle Gathering at Powderham Castle. http://www.powderham.co.uk/events/cr...assic-car-showDave
1974 Mk2, ZF Auto, 3.45 Diff, Datsun Driveshafts. Stag owner/maintainer since 1989.

Thanks goodness for a bit of cloud cover. Not as hot as usual this morning which gave me the opportunity of doing a bit of routine service work on the Stag as it is parked in the open in the Communal Car Park.
Checked oil, water, transmission & PAS fluids and topped up where necessary, including the carb pistons.
Ran the engine and made a minor adjustment to the tickover (it was a little fast), and oiled some other places that needed it.
Pumped the tyres up as the right rear one always seems to lose some pressure more quickly than the other 3.
In view of the recent thread on here about tyres, I checked what mine are and they are Courier 185/70R14H that were put on in year 2000 when I bought new alloys, and they are are still not showing any signs of wear although I only do a small mileage.
Next I lay on my back under the rear end and adjusted the handbrake cable as the handbrake was not working as well as it should.
The Sun then came out so called it a day.
PS. As usual had only been working on the car a couple of minutes when I was stopped by a couple of people enquiring about it - one British, one Spanish, and not one of them asked if it overheated, both being very complimentary about the car, the Spanish chap wanting to buy it off me.Last edited by Tdm; 6 July 2017, 13:22.

I did think though when I was under the car that there were nicer places I could be lying down on my back, but I won't go into that.
You know if I had a £1 for every time someone over here offered to buy my car off me, I would be a rich man.
Am I doing the right thing always refusing to sell it!?

The normal raffle prize is a chicken & wine takeaway, I suppose I could change it to the Stag -
but no, there are not enough people who attend on one night, although we have been running the Quiz for 8 years now
and if we had started off in week one, then that would have been a fair bit of money.

May look good and handle well in the dry as my old tyres did. In the wet - lethalWhite 1976 build ("Mk2") only a few mods
