That can't be real, you must have photoshopped it. It is just too mental to be true..............

Maybe JO maybe. No photo shopping only garden, Keith. About 10 miles at 30mph, I nearly fell asleep.

Today, I have the heart of my Stag back in my possession. The engine has been stuck in the garage of my ex-wife for over a decade since stripping the car down to an empty shell for restoration. Needless to say its in a sorrowful state (the engine that is not the ex-wife ..actually on second thoughts ), seized solid and will need a lot of time and effort spent on checking if its still serviceable or a major rebuild. It was a very reliable recon before the de-commission so fingers crossed heads not corroded or anything else terminal. Welcome home !

I couldn't afford a home with a garage initially and when I eventually got a house it only had a tiny single garage so could only recover the body shell initially (once I had refitted the suspension to make a rolling shell again!) and whatever else I could load into the empty passenger compartment.

Until I get time to check the engine I'll leave the bores soaking with diesel oil and see if that does the trick first. More on the "TO DO" list !

Body shell transported when I moved to my new home to take up residence in a nice 6m x 12m barn / garage.

Took the beast out seeing it is a nice sunny dry day.

Drip tray in garage had some auto fluid in it (as usual) must try and get a cable tie around the breather pipe connection, PLUS some coolant on the floor, slight leak from bottom hose.

Drove usual route to Wallingford and back, got a friendly wave from a TR7 driver.

Took 5 years old grandson as he is well into the Stag, when he got out at his home he said, 'that was rock and roll'.

IMG_1826.JPGIMG_1827.JPG We removed the hood from the frame today to take it to the nice Spanish man on Monday to have the zip sewn back in and all the stitching reinforced. Let's hope it goes back as easy it came off

I hope that goes well for you Graham. I think in future I'm going to insist on a much better quality zip being fitted to any hood I fit. A bit more Levi's than poundshop.

                            Regards

                            Steve
