Thanks Craig, and all other suggestions. Had looked @ aftermarket ones, but they're all naff - these are neat, and should reduce the likliehood of scalding the crown jewels

      Thanks
Hi MaestroB, just seen your post and note that the cupholder excitement has grabbed everyone's attention so they missed this!

Welcome. Are you going to tell us more about yourself? Have you got a Stag, or are you planning to get one?

Just got back from a week in Italy and a week in London, and my Stag is still sat there in our car Park getting very dirty as I am still waiting for a friend to bring me out a new Alternator so I can get it running again and check that the battery and repaired petrol tank are now both A.O.K.

Saw no Triumphs in Italy or London, but did see a lot of "Supercars" around Lake Garda (Sirmione in partcular) where every other vehicle seemed to be a Ferrari, Masserati, Aston Martin, Corvettte, or top of the range Porsche convertible.

As usual I got the timing of the trip wrong as where we were based in Desenzano, the week we were there was full of Cycles being raced round as it was an annual Cycle Festival, whereas just a few days after we left Desenzano it was an overnight stopping point for the annual Mille Millia sports/classic car race to Rome.

When we were picked up by private Taxi from Verona Airport to be taken to our Hotel in Desenzano I was dissappointed to note that it was a new "S" Class Mercedes, and when I asked the driver why it wasn't an Italian car he said (his words) most Italian cars are rubbish apart from some Supercars! After saying that as we were travelling on the Autostrada I did notice that the majority of cars we passed (or passed us) were German made ones, particularly large Audi models.

Took a chance with the fuel shortages in France and got to Cancale this afternoon. Felt a little embarrassed at filling up just 15 litres a time, but advice is keep topped up. Have been assured there will be fuel in Fougeres for the rally participants. Hope so as we need to be back at work on Tuesday. By keeping to modest speeds on the Route National from Cherbourg seemed to have managed about 27 mpg in an automatic Stag. Not sure that is right though.

Good luck Ian, hope you and Kath are ok. Afraid I won't be at the N&N next week, we're away that week but must catch up with you soon.

We're off to Normandy for 2 weeks on Sunday. The plan is to top up in Pompey and keep the driving to a minimum and speed down a bit. This is in a Volvo that should do >1000 miles on a tankful. Maybe it'll all get sorted soon!

Have a good trip to Fougeres. Been through it a few times but not stopped!

Stag-wise, removed the seatbelts for refurbishment. They are due back any day now!

                    Cheers,
                    Mike.

Mine since 1987. Finished a 20+ year rebuild in 2012. One of many Triumphs and a 1949 LandRover!

Drove to the station dropped boy at school on the way, lovely crisp morning air in the sunshine - roof down of course!
Looking forward to the trip back home tonight

Keep an eye out on the web for latest updates. The news here is conflicting though. The local newspaper web site is suggesting the restrictions are over and the number of sites without fuel are down to 20%. Yesterday it was 40%. But some may only have petrol whilst others only diesel.

Some of the blockades of the refineries and depots are being lifted by the law - read CRS - and you don't want to be around when they move in either. Heard also just now that Le Havre is being blockaded. Hope they stay away from Cherbourg.

                        Happy holiday

Went off to the Haynes Museum for the morning. Nice run, top down, lovely.

Their "R" reg Stag has the early pantograph drivers wiper arm.

Oh, I thought the later cars had plain RHS wiper arms. Looking at the 1974 Parts Catalogue, I see different.
