Like StagStan yesterday. about 60 miles around Broadstone, Corfe Mullen and then in the afternoon out to Stobrough Common with a happy labrador on the back seat sniffing the air as we drove out in the country. Border terrier held firmly on the floor in the front lest she jumped out. Lots of nice comments about the car. My wife has decided the car should be called "the green dragon" because of its roar. Hopefully not breathing fire though.
Bad news is that the green dragon has developed a knocking from the nearside front suspension. Oh dear.

Having recently added my Son-in-Law to the list of insured drivers I had the pleasure of showing him round the Stag on Sunday and going for a bit of a drive so that he could get the feel of it, A great pleasure to be driven in the Stag - it really is a very civilized way to travel and it was good to see Paul enjoying it and finding out how to play tunes on the exhaust when you go past tall buildings - I think he's hooked! Have also put my (other) daughter on the insurance so looking forward to a repeat performance with her next time she visits us from Cardiff. I think it's great to be able to share the enjoyment of these cars.

Mines sat outside work...roof down ready for a drive home along the coast road near here
Re vibration... I just managed to cure mine. New wheels and tyres made no difference rebalance made no difference. Ordered new prop shaft and was asked to crawl under to measure fitted length.... rear of propshaft was as loose as a loose thing in loose town... looked like the quill shaft bearing had collapsed. So ordered new quill shaft and bearing as well as new propshaft.
Removed propshaft to discover rear drive flange had come loose on diff extension.... no play in bearing at all! New washer and new nyloc nut torque the flange up to FT fit new prop shaft with UJs rather than rubbery joints...Vibration cured. Car is now a pleasure to drive!

Had a nice run from Kent across to West Sussex to meet some friends for lunch today, top down of course, blazing heat, sweaty shirt etc etc, but the car didn't miss a beat and the temp gauge only moved up to below halfway at times. Who said Stags overheat? Despite the 30 degree heat, only the driver was overheating!!!Steve

Had a lovely run on the hottest day of the year. ( still had a eye on the temp gauge ) all went lovely but the car needed a Italian tune up after doing nothing for a while. We went to a lovely pub restaurant near bath. A perfect evening and a lovely drive home. Finally payback for the mrs after years of restoring, she loves the stag and our outings.

Yesterday we drove up to High Force (upper Tees valley, Co Durham) through the Yorkshire dales, walked around in the midday sun (mad dogs, Englishmen, and Stag owners!) and then cut back across country via Stang Top to the highest pub in Britain, the Tan Hill Inn. From there back home to Harrogate via Swaledale with a stop off in Reeth (one of the loveliest villages in the country IMO). So hot at one point we put the roof up with the windows and back window down – works really well! The Stag didn’t miss a beat or overheat or use any water and hardly any oil, 150 miles in very hot weather. Marvellous day, marvellous car!

I can only aspire to Yorkshireness Richard, having lived here for over 30 years but from 'down south' originally. They still won't let me have a Yorkshire passport, even though I can say 'now then' as well as anyone born here! You know how it is. All of that said, as you know it is a fabulous county and great natural Stag territory.
