That was my first thought but I did not want to be offensive.

As regards sound recorders that I asked about on here and elsewhere, into which to plug the phono jack from my "bumper" mike to compliment my new dashcam - a "Zoom H1" has been recommended by several sources, anyone on here got one?.

Whilst fiddling with the interior wiring of the car I have decided to fit a set of reversing parking sensors that I bought years ago.
I now have access to an underground parking bay, but like all parking spaces over here in Tenerife, the space is not very long and quite narrow with a wall at the back. You need to reverse the car at an angle to get into the space, and have to be right up against the wall to stop the front end from sticking out and being hit by other cars. Wiring up the unit is no problem but drilling holes in the rear bumper to accomodate the 4 sensors could be difficult if not impossible, but don't know where else to put them.

Do you need all 4 sensors? For your main needs, I'd have thought 2 should be adequate (if the system will allow this). I've seen somewhere (probably on here) where sensors were fitted in the over rider rubbers, which I think is elegant and the way I'd do it.

Went for a 50 mile shakedown run this morning, she ran well, overdrive worked fine, the wipers work at both speeds but are a bit jerky.

I decided to check the speedo against my GPS and the speedo seems to be about 10% slow, so at an indicated 60 the GPS was showing 66. This isn't going to be conducive to keeping my licence.

I am wondering whether the diff has been change for the lower ratio. My question is whether it is possible to identify the ratio in the diff without taking it apart?

Yes it's easy, put a mark on the input flange and on the output flanges. Rotate the input until the outputs have completed a revolution whils counting the turns required on the input to achieve this. It will be about 31/2 turns, if it's just over 31/2 its 1:3.7 if it's just under its the non standard 1:3.45.

Also it could be your tyres or a tired speedo
