i finally got mine registered over here in Denmark, it passed its 'Toldsyn' (import inspection) with the 3.9 ltr rover engine (was told this would be a huge issue). Picked up the number plates today - very happy bunny! Insurance only covers mid march to end October, but have a arranged a day of cover next week to take it to the garage (for a tiny job) but more importantly a day to drive it - when the forecast looks good!

Popped over to Shepreth to chat to Bob about some work on mine. Ogled Simon's pristine TR6 and two Stags in the workshop.
Bob showed me what he thinks is the main reason for the Stag starter clunk. He reckons that it's caused by the lead connector that runs up from the starter motor. The plug gets corroded inside and needs cleaning up inside. Triumph didn't use a waterproof plug and socket so moisture and crud get in and the corrosion starts. The lead is generous and hangs down. It's possible to tuck it up the side of the gearbox to keep it out of the muck thrown up.Chris

At last satisfied that the petrol that had spilled out from the fuel tank had left the waxoyl dry. So got the cans of waxoyl out and resprayed the inside of the boot. Now it just need the waxoyl to set enough so as I can put the spare wheel back in and all the stuff I carry around - just in case I break down.

First I dropped a long extension line from our Apartment to the Car Park and used our Hoover to clean the interior of the Stag.
Then I attached the Mobius dashcam and Zoom H1 sound recorder to give them another short test, after next calling in at the Car Wash, then doing a quick circular tour around the area where I live.
Have edited the video footage to cut out some unwanted clips, but haven't got the audio part from the sound recorder to exactly match up with it yet. The new sound recorder has picked up the sound from the mike above the exhaust this time though which means the cable linking the two is working fine.
When I do my next Stag Sightseeing Tour (Tour 2) it therefore should record the Stag exhaust "burble" alongside the video footage. On the video below I chose the recoding format "MP3" on the Zoom H1, but you can also record in "WAV" format which it says should be better, so I will try that setting next.
The Test footage is just under 8 minutes long and has been uploaded to YouTube the Link appearing below. Remember to put the sound on to pick up the audio track. Lovely Sunny day here in South Tenerife with just a little cloud. Our 21 year old Honda Accord (shown right at the end of the video) goes in for a respray tomorrow, which means until we get it back it the Stag will become our regular daily driver.

Just put the steering column back together today, quite difficult to get the rubber inner o rings in I have to say but got there in the end.
Only really difficult part and which is still not quite right and needs adjustments is the indercator and washer stalks, getting them central and to work without hitting the cowel has taken all afternoon, I now have spacers in but need to make them permanent.
