First salt when down yesterday, but there's some warm rain due in a couple of days, so hopefully I'll have mine out for a blast or two before spring.

I drove to the north to pick up my new battery for the Stag ( in the Stag just in case anyone thought that this story wasn't stag related) It took me two hours that a year or so ago would have been an hour at the most, the North motorway is now like the M25 too many cars too small a island cant wait to be rescued.

However, I can't bear the thought of them being confined to the house and not be able to smell whatever is in the air, to chase leaves etc. So like you, I take the gamble. I hope the pain eases and I'm sure you will long to have another.

IMG_1974.jpgThanks Pete, kind words, sincerely appreciated. That is the second time he was hit by a car, the first time a bloody nose and a couple of teeth lost, but this time killed together with another cat.
Norwegian are a bit renowned for being unaware of danger, so have gone back to my first love and got 2 Maine Coon kittens - only now I can't do anything without a kitten trying to get involved. At least it helps distract from the sadness....

Much sympathy for losing your pet, been there myself too. Always sad, and don't we get so attached to the small creatures that share our homes and lives?
But was it fair to lambast Neil W so? He could not possibly have known of your loss when he posted.Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

Since taking the Honda in for it's respray have been driving the Stag every day which I am really enjoying, yesterday it was to the Dentist in San Isidro (see video in sightseeing thread), and today it's snooker 1st, then a trip to Overseas (what "Iceland" is called over here) to stock up on about 200 Xmas mince pies and sausage rolls for the Complex Xmas Eve party before they sell out, and also a trip to Ten Bel near you Graham to reserve a table for this coming Sunday's dance there.

I also enjoy driving the car which I have done ever since I have owned it but I have pretty much covered this and the other islands in this Archipelago the final frontier is La Palma where we will be off to on Sunday with the Stag. I can understand you getting exited about driving to the dentist, snooker and Iceland but for me would be a daily occurrence, I need to travel to places anew by road and living on the mainland makes this much easier and cheaper. I think its great that you get involved in the social life of the complex that you live on, organising Christmas parties, quizzes , fashion shows ect , as I said we are very different and this would be my worst nightmare. Working in the tourist market 24/7 364 days a year for over 25 years, now I am retired I just want some me time.
Maureen likes to get involved in things or else she gets bored, and I don't mind joining in. She has been President of our complex for 5 years now, and may or may not stand again next year, as to be frank, there is no one else capable of making a good job of it, and as the owner of 4 properies on the complex we don't want to see the value of our investments go down.
Can quite understand your desire to seek pastures new, but when we ourselves want some time on own own, and a break, we are fortunate enough to be able to afford to go away on a cruise, or visit the grandkids in England. We wouldn't be able to if we hadn't emigrated when we did.
There are advantages and disadvantages to living on a complex, and at some time in the future we may sell our apartments and buy a Villa, but it would still be on Tenerife and in the area around or near to Los Cristianos.
Just got back from our trips out in the Stag, where it was used as a delivery van as we bought I don't know how many sausage rolls and mince pies etc., for the Xmas party and presents for all the kids on sight as each one gets a present on Xmas day off Father Xmas by the Poolside. On our return home I even got a thumbs up from a Taxi driver I passed as he seemed to like the car.
Kept the dashcam and sound recorder running whilst we were out, so will make another video of the trip and upload it to YouTube for anyone interested to watch. Wanted to try a different sound setting this time for the Mike that sits above the exhaust. Todays run (after snooker) was to Ten Bel via Galletas, then through Guargacho to Las Chafiras to buy the presents from "China Town", and the food from Iceland (Overseas).Last edited by Tdm; 9 November 2016, 17:59.

My wife and son think your new kittens are very cute. Sorry to hear about your other cat. Fortunately our cat tends to go out into the gated alleyway behind our garden rather than onto the road out front. However, occasionally when I am working on the cars she comes dinksing past and wanders across the road with little attention paid to the passing traffic!
