Used our Stag to go to work today after dropping our hound off at dog daycare. Unfortunately I became distracted as I opened the drivers door and it clattered into a stone trough taking the paint on the door edge down to bare metal. Another task for the weekend

Just checked on the sleeping baby only to find that the drivers door puddle light has a slight glow (LED) dammmm

Used the Stag yesterday and then started sorting out the paint damage on the door edge from earlier in the week. Also noticed that that the lip on the front offside wheelarch has split open in two places. So a wheelarch repair panel looks to be on the job list for March time once the winter is on the wane. Use through the last six winters and lashings of salt etc has finally caught up with that wing.

Sunday lunch at a winery, via a scenic trip in the Perth Hills. Days like today make me glad I brought the Stag over here...

            Hi Stocky

I am curious how your car still has its UK registration number in Australia?

            Regards

Lots of UK registrations in Spain.

It's a private plate. You can have pretty much anything on a plate here, for a price.
The reg is one of the (many) the car had in the U.K., and the windows are security etched with that reg, and I felt a bit sentimental...

(And the Rego people stuffed up and instead of a zero they put an "oh" at the end of the number, and they won't change it.)

They should only be there on Holiday Jeff, as in Tenerife you have 6 months to swap your car onto local plates if you keep it here and are non-resident, or only one month if you are resident. Otherwise in theory the car can be impounded, although there is a bloke on our complex with an old S Class Merc who has been here 10 years and is still driving round on English plates. Problem is if he has an accident and hits someone his Insurance (if he has any) will be invalid because his car is in fact illegal.

Getting back to what did I do with my Stag today, well I have driven it every day this week and it seems to be running better and better each day. Today it was a trip to "Ten Bel" next to Silencio (where Staggard lives) at lunchtime for a dance in the sunshine.

The more I use it the better it seems to perform, and I hope I am not tempting fate in saying that. Will probably go out for another run in it tomorrow whilst the misses chairs a Committee meeting, and perhaps do another sightseeing video if I go anywhere interesting.

Yes I did put illegally on my post but removed it in case I wasn't 100% correct.

I know 2 people near our place who have had their UK plates for 10 years, 1 being a personal plate so doesn't want to lose it. They still manage to get insurance ok though even though the local police know what they are up to.

Washed and hoovered mine, then put him back in the garage

Took it out for blast then when warmed up set up tuner studio to auto tune my Ecu, looking to smooth out a very small flat spot at WOT. Also made a data log of it for further studying later. After applying the suggested changes from the software it did seem to be improved.

First full day of Stag ownership, and probably the last chance of some dry, sunny weather without salt/grit on the roads. Me and four children (my two plus their friends, all 7-11 range) blasting round the lanes. All four agreed it was the best car ever - so a success in getting them hooked young.

Home, wash the muck off the underside and arches (it was a two hour trip in yesterday's rain from his former home) and now tucked up for winter. Might get a chance to have a proper trawl through the box of history he came with soon.

Went on another (25 mile) run along the back coast roads of South Tenerife as it was a nice Monday morning, and had the dashcam and sound recorder running, and am presently loading the footage and audio tracks onto my PC ready for creating "Stag Tenerife Sightseeing Tour 2" which I will upload to youTube when finished so you can view it if you wish.

You do know the Stag is only a 4 seater!
You plus four kids makes 5. Not sure how legal that would be and what the insurance bods would think if you had a crash. I am sure others might advise differently. Plus there is a whole load of stuff on rear seat belt installation which only ever covers 2 rear seatbelt restraints. Worth checking out
                              thanks
