This afternoon I tried the paint company I had been referred to. The "gun" was not available as it was out. It was suggested I try again on Tuesday, as it was out tomorrow as well. I checked with my local garage who sent me to a small body shop nearby. And luck struck ! The "gun" and it's user from the first visited paint company were there and in exchange for info re the SOCTFL to this body shop guy, the gun was used and find out the result tomorrow.

There's a guy on the SOC forum from Stowmarket in Suffolk(Omen?) who is after a paint match for his car, I can no longer post on there as my membership has expired but if someone could tell him it might be worth contacting Industrial Powder And Paint Services in Sproughton Road Ipswich (01473)463333 they might be able to help.

        Hope this is useful.
Yes thanks, depending on what happens in the morning.

                    Volvo Dark Brown ??????????!!!!!!!!!
May as well be, as it's not Maple, Sienna or Russett.

Getting to the point where will try anything !! I only need to blow in a wheel arch, not the whole car. Halfords mixed me a maple, and I also have found a premixed tin of Maple. Both come out and dry with a yellow tinge to them. Mine is a dark brown, suppose could be described as a rich chocolate colour. Going to get some of the Volvo mixed up tomorrow. Otherwise, dunno. Must have been stuck like this for a week or more now.

I always thought that BL Flamenco, Pimento and Vermillion were all the same paint, just different names

                            No Russ.

Vermillion is definitely the brighter (Orange) of the three. I fondly remember my late Father's Marina in Vermillion with a black vinyl roof. Flamenco is a subtler colour than Pimento, and my favourite of the three, if I had to choose that is

I cannot believe anyone would go to Halfords for paint, it's the last place I would go.

Go to a proper car paint specialist, there are loads about.
