    Store or drive

I don't know if you can do polls with the forum software but I'm interested to know a particular view from as many Staggers as possible.

    It's about 'winter months'

Last year my Stag sat in a carcoon from November to March - so it wasn't used for months

    So - the question....

During the winter months (wherever winter is in the world) do you:

    1) Store your car - in a garage
    2) Store your car -in a humidity controlled environment
    3) Keep your car running - using it regularly

I'd really be interested in what people do regarding this Q as I haven't made my mind up yet.
Ironically it's my most reliable car from the fleet for the moment!!

Salt is a world of pain, I leave mine in the Carcoon.

Use it on fine days. Much better than sticking it away for weeks at a time, they don't like that.......

3, damp and frosty roads bring a whole new variety of pucker factors into play, and RWD is far more fun than fWD in the snow.

Drive, whenever you can. Just avoid the salt and ensure its cleaned regularly!

Storage and humidity control is for museum exhibits!

                So far

                Store =
                Special store = 1
                Out and about = 4

So far it's a 'hard stagxet'

Drive it all year round, rain, snow, salt, sun, whatever.

Try to keep mine dry and away from salt during the winter, but use it whenever possible. Long term non-use is more damaging.

No choice, we drive on packed ice here from Oct-March at very sub-zero temps. So Stag is stored in a heated garage (8 oC mostly, unless I'm working on car). Stabiliser in petrol tank, fresh oil change and battery conditioner. Don't start it until spring. nearly all classic car folks do this here. Humidity here is low.

I avoid the salt but my favorite driving is on a bright dry sunny winter day with top down and a bobble hat with warm jacket. The car firms up as the rubber suspension bits are nice and cold and these older cars drive the best on those kind of days.

Having said that, fine in North east USA, but bright dry sunny days in the UK over winter??

The tax exempt one is used all year, but I try to avoid frosty weather because of the salt. My newer Stag is sorned for the winter, I generally start the engine once a month and let it thoroughly warm up before putting it away again.
They really don't like not being used for six months, particularly in a damp garage like mine.

Damp garage? My car would love any sort of garage, she lives outside!
