It’s the same in Sussex. Cyclist treat the area as one giant leisure facility. Weekends are a nightmare here in the summer. Mamil’s everywhere, normally found in pairs or packs, riding 2 abreast.

Was about to start a rant to also include joggers, but calmed down now.

Fingers crossed for dry weather this weekend.

Well, for xmas my Father inlaws new partner is into craft and quilt making(?) and she has given me an IOU for a steering wheel cover for my Stag I don’t know how to tell her it’ll never get used becaipuse of my beautiful hand made wooden Mota Lita? She doesn’t understand classics!

Up here in the Dales we call them "Tw*ts on bikes". It's been much worse since all that Tour De France nonsense which came within 200 yards of my house. Some days there's no pleasure in even going out in any car let alone my Stag.

I also fitted some "bling" in the shape of polished stainless air filter and intake covers which I bought on-line from Stainless for classics who are... www.stainlessforclassics.co.uk/stagparts.htm

I customised them by using some metallic blue card from a gift bag rather than the black that was originally supplied. Not everyone's taste but I like them.

Thanks Stan. I know all the shiny bling doesn't appeal to everyone but I like it and after all at the end of the day it's my car. The polished stainless covers are very well made and decent quality and buying direct is a lot cheaper than ebay. They originally come with a black insert but can be customised to any colour to match your car. I used some thick metallic paper from one of those gift bags you get from the greeting card shops.

It's slightly darker colour than mine. It's not that easy to get an exact match with the dash, especially when buying by mail order but I guess that the wheel will change colour as it ages.
