I had a day off work today. The drivers door was refitted and all the mechanisms installed, then the bootlid was fitted. After taking a few photos of her outside in the sunshine, I then drove her the short distance to my house. It was great to hear the V8 burble again and feel the wind through my hair

I am quite taken without the look with bumpers, it gives it an American muscle car look My weekend will be busy wet sanding and mopping all the paintwork prior to fitting the chromework.

Since this photo was taken I have fitted the chrome finishers to the front and rear.

I have purchased a set of black bodyside stripes but I am undecided as to whether or not to apply them to the car.

              Thanks for reading this thread.

              Cheers

Looking good Bruce Are you planning on black sills and thin s/steel strip? Or leaving it as it is?

Well done Bruce, you have got it finished while there is still some Summer left!

It would be nice to take any of my three soft top cars out for a summer evening drive, but I am working 12 hours per day, 7 days per week so they just sit there in the garage waiting for the rain to start!

                    Hi Dave

I like the look of the thin strips along the top of the sills but I don't like the corrosion trap aspect so I won't be fitting them.

Whilst I have blacked the rear panel, I had not considered blacking the sills.

                    regards

                      Hi Neil

The continued great weather has certainly been focusing my mind recently with regards to completing the car.

Hopefully you can have a day away from the farm work on Sunday and pop along to the Shelsey Walsh Hill Climb event.

                      Regards

                      Bruce

                        Hi Bruce,

The strip clips are plastic. No corrosion if the holes are painted. Easy to spray the inside of the sills with Dynax S-50 using the long probes through the holes beneath the stainless sill tread plates. In fact the metal screws holding those plates offer a greater chance of corrosion than the plastic trim clips.

The car looks nice either way.

Looking great, Bruce, as it rightly should after your hard work.

                              Hi Dave

I bought SOTFCL exterior wings and doorskins. For the arches etc I bought the cheaper alternatives

                              regards
