      What about the itch?

THanks everyone for the replies, looks fairly simple to fix. Cheers. It was surprising to see how much air the fan moved under the car.

I also have this problem and got the cream and O rings from LD parts for 75pence but it looks almost impossible to get at without removing the exhaust. Can anyone pleasetell me if it is possible to do without disconnecting the exhaust and are any special tools required.

        Thanks, Steve
Steve, I disconnected the oil sender cable, used a long extension with a socket, undone the only bolt and lifted the assembly off in one go. You will have to use grips or pliers of some sort to pull the oldO ringoff.Refitting in reverse.

Just replaced oil transfer cover O ring after similar leak, when the ring was removed it was so hard it was like a piston ring.
If you have an oil leak and are going to fit a new O ring, I would advise doing both oil pump and oil transfer cover as well. They all harden and crack with age.

I had exactly this happen on mine and it was the oil pressure sender. Clouds of smoke when in traffic as it dripped straight onto the exhaust manifold:shock: Bought a new sender from Paddocks and they said it is a very fast moving line!

I also had the oil pressure switch develop a leak and soI replaced it with a used one thatI happened to have. I don't recall howI actuallyR & R the switch's but it was done without removing any other components. Paddocks comments are interesting as it seems as this switch is also not of the best quality
